CheapTickets is actually a pretty useful ticket site; the only problem is that the site focuses more on travel tickets and vacation packages than tickets for specific concerts. It’s almost like an Orbitz or Hotels.com that happens to sell a few concert tickets on the side. This difference from other concert ticket sites is evident in the way the site is set up. You have to go through a couple menus before you even come to the concert tickets. If you want a better ticket site that specializes in concert tickets, check out Ticketmaster, StubHub or TicketsNow.
The CheapTickets site will charge a service fee for your purchase that is calculated as 15% of the ticket price. While that isn’t the most expensive service fee we’ve seen, it is above average. And you’ll also be charged a $15 shipping fee to get the tickets to your door.
CheapTickets doesn’t have some of the great features that higher-ranked ticket sites have; this may partly be because the site is focused more on vacations and plane tickets. For instance, you can’t even sell your own tickets on the site, a common feature on other ticket sites. Other missing features include ticket auctions and the ability to print your tickets.
Unluckily, the CheapTickets website isn’t terribly easy to use because it looks very cluttered. And what’s more, you have to navigate through several menus before it even becomes apparent that the site sells concert tickets. There are several more screens before you can find the tickets you want to buy.
CheapTickets has a privacy seal and, more importantly, uses VeriSign to make sure your transactions are safe and secure.
CheapTickets has a useful FAQ that you can consult if you have questions. Or you can also contact the company directly through phone or email.
CheapTickets might be a good place to find plane tickets, but it’s definitely not the best choice if you’re looking for concert tickets.
